Introduction to Contamination
In the 13th century in England in which it was one of the earliest pollution. King Edward I had precautions on pollution by the way it was affecting the environment but people had no interest.
Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution made an enormous contribution to water contamination. Pollution intensified and the waste was being released into the bodies of water. Affecting the Ohio's Cuyahoga River that burst into flames due to industrial waste being released into the river.
Reduction to Pollution
Over some time the government tried to pass acts to help reduce the pollution of water. In 1972 the United States Congress passed the Clean Water Act to reduce water pollution.
